I was born in England. I was blessed that my parents took me with them when they went to the local Church of England each Sunday. I attended Sunday School from a very early age. From the age of 4 to the age of 11 I went to a couple of local schools. At secondary level I went to a private school seven miles away. Leaving school at 18 I worked for an accounting firm and duly qualified as an accountant at 22. At 24 I came to Australia.
For a few years I worked for an accounting firm, but then moved to a stockbroking firm, where I met my wife. Her family were strongly Presbyterian and I switched from Anglican to Presbyterian. After church union we attended Canterbury Presbyterian Church. Since then we have had five different ministers, all of whom have preached faithfully from the Word.
My faith has grown from being a nominal Christian to being a very active and strongly believing Christian. I have been Session Clerk for over 25 years and Treasurer for 7 years. We are blessed with 3 children and 8 grandchildren, and we enjoy a very happy relationship with each of them.
